Theme of the novel: The Lord of the Flies

I think that the theme of this novel is peace v/s violence. I think this is the main theme because this book portrays a group of young boys who have mercy to a little pig, who play and work together to survive, talk to each other, play, eat, live. Then, they turn into a group of boys with no mercy, destruction and chaos, violent and rage. They basically turn into savage barbaric indians. However, some boys keep to the good side and try to bring peace and harmony to them and tries to bring them back into one group to survive. They do not use violence but words. The other group, full of savage monsters and barbarians, use violence and weapons to gain control and authority and bring fear to everyone. They both have leaders; Ralph leading the passive side and Jack leading the evil indians. They were once good friends, like brothers but something ticked and Jack started to turn evil and violent and started his own tribe. There were just too many rules with Ralph as leader so he created his own. Ralph, wanting to bring them back together so they can survive, tries to talk Jack into coming back. Jack, blinded by violent and rage, does not listen and brings chaso and devestation to the forest and people. He kills innocent kids, burns the forest, pays tribute to the"beast." He turns into a frenzied barbaric monster who has no mercy or compassion on anything and every step he takes, he causes sorrow and destruction.
This is important to teenagers living in 2009 because there are some kids who are like Jack and some people who are like Ralph. There are people who are good and try to stop kids from doing bad things and they set good examples. There are some kids who are bad and do drugs and they end up in jail. The teenage age is probably the most important for anyone's lives because it is what they do that sculps their future and their life. If a kid decides to do drugs and smoke and not care about the law in thier teenage age, they would probably become criminals and addicts. If a teenager deciceds to be good and to study and work, they will probably become successful in life like a buisnessman or something. It is the choice they make in their teenage age that changes their life.
