A) Are there any settings in this novel that you have found to be beautiful? Or disturbing? Or memorable? Describe these settings and comment on why they were meaningful to you.
There is a setting in the book where it talks about this lagoon and it describes it very beautifully. If you do not know what a lagoon is, a lagoon is an area of shallow water separated from the sea by low sandy dunes. This was the definition from www.dictionary.com. In the book, it talks about this beautiful lagoon that is described really pretty and magnificent. On page 10, it says, “Within the irregular arc of coral the lagoon was still as a mountain lake – blue of all shades and shadowy green and purple.” Now from those words, the lagoon looks very pretty in my imagination. In my imagination, it would be this area of water, calm and still and not a ripple in sight. The color of the water would be pretty blue color, turquoise, dark blue, light blue, and it would have colors of green and purple. The lagoon in my imagination would somewhat look like a place where tt is a very clean and beautiful place where you can just relax and have a good swim. This is very meaningful to me because I like pretty sights. I like it when the sun sets and the clouds are pink and red. I like it when a full moon shows and it glimmers on the beach. So basically, I like very beautiful and breath-taking sights that have pretty colors like this lagoon.
